Travel and tourism is the fastest growing industry in the world, (partly due to the increase of international globalisation and business travel) and these qualifications are in response to the escalating demand for management skills coupled with sector specific knowledge.
The BATHE Level 4 Diploma in Management for Travel and Tourism is a 120-credit qualification which requires learners to complete 6 core units. Key areas explored include the travel and tourism sector and its impact, as well as the communication and people management skills required of managers working in any sector
For all BATHE qualifications assessment is completed through the submission of internally assessed student work. To achieve a pass for a unit, a learner must have successfully achieved the learning outcomes at the standards set by the assessment criteria for that unit. There are no externally set written examinations attached to any unit. BATHE will provide a sample assignment for each unit which can be used as the assessment for the unit. We would encourage our centres to develop their own assessment strategies so you have the opportunity to put assignments in a context that is appropriate for your learners. Any assignments that you devise will need to be submitted to BATHE for approval before delivery of the programme. Centres can submit assignments for approval using the ‘Centre-Devised Assignment’ template documentation available on the BATHE website.
An assignment can relate to a single unit. Alternatively, you may incorporate more than one unit in an integrated assignment provided the content of the assignment is clearly mapped to show which assessment criteria from which units are being covered.
English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.
The qualification is designed to be delivered over one academic year for full-time study, but it is also flexible in its delivery in order to accommodate part-time and distance learning.
The qualification is delivered face-to-face, through lectures, tutorials, seminars, distance, online by approved centres only.
All units within this qualification are internally assessed by the centre and externally verified by BATHE. The qualifications are criterion referenced, based on the achievement of all the specified learning outcomes.
To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence to demonstrate that they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. Judgement that the learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria is made by the Assessor.
The Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how the judgement of the learners’ overall achievement has been arrived at.
